Phillips becomes third Giants draft pick to sign his rookie contract

The New York Giants have secured another player from their 2024 rookie draft class as we approach OTAs and mandatory mini-camp.

Rookie cornerback Dru Phillips, the Giants’ third-round selection, has agreed to his four-year rookie deal.

Phillips, who is 5-foot-11 and weighs 180 pounds, entered the draft after playing three seasons at Kentucky. During his time as a Wildcat, he played 38 games, started 16, and finished his career at Kentucky with 80 tackles, including two and a half for a loss and nine pass deflections.

The versatile corner, who made it clear at the rookie mini-camp that he can play both inside and outside, will begin his career with the Giants in the slot, the place he said during mini-camp he prefers to play.

The South Carolina native now joins his fellow rookie teammates Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. as the only other players who have signed their Giants rookie contracts.
