The Colts have signed another member of their 2024 NFL Draft Class, leaving just one rookie remaining unsigned.

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that the team has signed Oregon State wide receiver/return specialist Anthony Gould to a rookie contract.

Selected by the Colts in the 5th round of the 2024 NFL Draft with Pick #142, at 5’8,” 174 pounds, Gould projects to be the team’s primary special teams returnman on both kickoffs and punt returns alike, as well as a backup vertical threat and ‘gadget’ weapon on jet sweeps and wide receiver screens—within Indy head coach Shane Steichen’s creative offense.

Gould recorded 44 receptions for 718 receiving yards (16.3 ypr. avg.) and 2 touchdown receptions for the Beavers offense in 2023—while averaging 16.1 yards per punt return.

The Colts were in real need of an upgrade as far as special teams returnmen go, and with the kickoff being made into more of a competitive football play with new rule changes in 2024, and it makes sense as to why they felt comfortable selecting Gould as early as the 5th round.

The Colts have now signed 8 of the 9 players of their rookie draft class, with Colts’ second round pick, fellow rookie wideout AD Mitchell of Texas, being Indy’s lone unsigned rookie to-date.
