The oddsmakers are at work early.

The NFL schedule has been released. We now know where and when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be facing their opponents. And when it comes to opening week, oddsmakers waste no time applying lines to games across the league.

With that said, DraftKings Sportsbook has the Bucs listed as a 3-point favorites as they play host to Washington.

Point spread: Bucs -3.5
Point total: 42.5
Moneyline: Bucs -180, Commanders +150

Going into last season, Tampa Bay was not favored in the first week of the season in Minnesota. But behind the arms and legs of quarterback Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay came away with a Week 1 win. Not saying there will also be reverse fortunes here, too. Just pointing out lines nearly four months away never tell the true story. Because the spread is just too narrow for a Bucs win and will eventually be raised.

Sorry, Washington. Couldn’t resist.

The NFL schedule makers gave the Bucs four primetime games for 2024. While this game isn’t one of them, it is still a late afternoon kickoff for the entire nation to see Mayfield and the Bucs open the season.
