Picking every game on the Steelers’ schedule

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ schedule has been revealed, which means for the next four months, we’ll be discussing all the different possibilities and pathways for the Steelers to get to the playoffs.

With that said, here are my game-by-game predictions 1.0 for the Steelers (the second version will come out the week of the regular season).

Week 1: at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons will be the best team in the NFC South, but the Steelers catch a break and face them early on when they are still figuring out how to gel. It’s a good start for the Steelers as they get a win in Arthur Smith’s first game as offensive coordinator against his former team.

Prediction: Steelers 24, Falcons 17 (1-0)

Week 2: at Denver Broncos

From one revenge game to another. Russell Wilson strolls into Denver and helps the Steelers win a game over a young, rebuilding Broncos team.

Prediction: Steelers 21, Broncos 10 (2-0)

Week 3: vs Los Angeles Chargers

This will be Justin Herbert’s first trip to Pittsburgh, and I he’s going to escape the east-coast trip with a win.

Prediction: Chargers 26, Steelers 20 (2-1)

Week 4: at Indianapolis Colts

The Colts came within one throw of being a playoff team last season with Gardner Minshew at quarterback. Anthony Richardson is going to be fantastic, and Pittsburgh will drop two in a row.

Prediction: Colts 27, Steelers 17 (2-2)

Week 5: vs Dallas Cowboys

Pittsburgh’s first primetime game of the year will come in a situation where they need a win, and they’ll get it over a Cowboys team that is top heavy with talent, but thin outside of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons.

Prediction: Steelers 24, Cowboys 17 (3-2)

Week 6: at Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders will be starting either Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell at quarterback. They also don’t have a ton of star power on either side of the ball. This should be somewhat of a routine win for the Steelers.

Prediction: Steelers 27, Raiders 13 (4-2)

Week 7: vs New York Jets

The Steelers will play their second Sunday night game in three weeks, this time playing host to Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. This will only be the second start of Rodgers’ career at Acrisure Stadium, and he’ll get his first win in a low-scoring affair.

Prediction: Jets 16, Steelers 13 (4-3)

Week 8: vs New York Giants

Pittsburgh caps off its streak of three primetime games in four weeks by hosting the Giants on Monday Night Football. The Giants, in my opinion, will have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, so this should be a dominant performance from the Steelers.

Prediction: Steelers 30, Giants 9 (5-3)

Week 9: Bye

Week 10: at Washington Commanders

I don’t believe in Jayden Daniels as an NFL quarterback. This should be a win for Pittsburgh off the bye week against a young, rebuilding Commanders team.

Prediction: Steelers 20, Commanders 10 (6-3)

Week 11: vs Baltimore Ravens

The Steelers have won seven of their last eight against Baltimore- that streak continues as the Steelers continue to give Lamar Jackson fits.

Prediction: Steelers 21, Ravens 13 (7-3)

Week 12: at Cleveland Browns

The Steelers and Browns really feels like a rivalry again. The Browns will win the first of two matchups and snap the Steelers’ three-game win streak.

Prediction: Browns 20, Steelers 16 (7-4)

Week 13: at Cincinnati Bengals

The third straight AFC North matchup for the Steelers, and the first against the Bengals- this one will not go great for Pittsburgh as the Bengals win handedly.

Prediction: Bengals 31, Steelers 17 (7-5)

Week 14: vs Cleveland Browns

The Steelers split the season series with Cleveland and end their two-game skid by defeating the Browns at home.

Prediction: Steelers 24, Browns 14 (8-5)

Week 15: at Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles will have a lot to prove in 2024, and their offense will be revamped with Saquon Barkley in the backfield. Pittsburgh hasn’t won in Philadelphia in nearly 60 years, and that streak will end.

Prediction: Steelers 20, Eagles 16 (9-5)

Week 16: at Baltimore Ravens

The last time the Steelers lost in Baltimore was during the 2019 season. They continue their dominance and get to 10 wins.

Prediction: Steelers 17, Ravens 16 (10-5)

Week 17: vs Kansas City Chiefs

Unfortunately, this will not be a holly jolly Christmas on the North Shore. Patrick Mahomes has never lost to the Steelers, and he moves his record to 4-0 on Christmas day.

Prediction: Chiefs 28, Steelers 17 (10-6)

Week 18: vs Cincinnati Bengals

Once the Bengals get into playoff mode, they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league. The Steelers will be competitive the second time around, but the Bengals will get the best of them, once again.

Prediction: Bengals 24, Steelers 23 (10-7)

Final record prediction: 10-7, No. 7 seed in AFC Playoffs
