Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the Eagles’ 2024 schedule – PhillyVoice
The Eagles don’t play any opponents coming off their bye week in 2024. […] Remember “The Gauntlet” last season, when the Eagles had to play, in order, the Cowboys, Chiefs, Bills, 49ers, Cowboys, and Seahawks? Well, no such “Gauntlet” exists this year. The closest thing is the two-game road stretch against the Rams and the Ravens in Weeks 12 and 13.

Eagles schedule analysis: Win-loss record predictions for 2024 games – BGN
It feels like the Eagles have too much talent not to be a pretty good football team. Adding Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio should help. I feel confident that Jalen Hurts is going to be better than he was in 2023. Potential pitfalls include taking a step back in the trenches. The offensive line might not be elite with Jason Kelce’s departure. The pass rush could be less potent with Haason Reddick gone. Overall, though, I like how the Eagles’ schedule shapes up for them. The early bye week isn’t ideal … but the Eagles do get the benefit of not getting on a plane after Week 12. And four of the last five are at home, priming them for a strong push into the postseason.

NFL International games in 2024, ranked by watchability – SB Nation
No. 1: Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Sept. 6 in São Paulo, Brazil. The NFL’s first trip to Brazil is an absolute banger to kick off the year. We have two legitimate NFC playoffs teams, both of whom figure to be in the mix at the end — and there’s a lot on the line when it comes to tone setting for the season. Jordan Love is a megastar in the making and attacking the Eagles defense will be incredibly fun to watch. Especially now Josh Jacobs is in Green Bay they’ll be a more diverse offense that could really cause a lot of problems for Philadelphia. Then on the other side of the ball we have the Eagles, now with Saquon Barkley — and they’re still the most infuriatingly talented team in the NFL. I say “infuriating” because on paper they should be molly whopping 90 percent of the league — but keep playing down to their opponents’ level and giving them a chance. Everything about this screams that it’s going to be a hell of a game.

Roob’s annual annotated week-by-week look at the Eagles’ 2024 schedule – NBCSP
Overall, the Eagles have struggled vs. the Cowboys, going 9-15 in 24 meetings since 2012, but they’ve won four of the last five at the Linc, including a 4-0 mark in meaningful home games. The Eagles beat the Cowboys 28-23 at the Linc last year despite Dak Prescott passing for 374 yards with three TDs and no interceptions and a 191-yard game by CeeDee Lamb. Among the 53 quarterbacks who’ve played more than one game at the Linc, Prescott’s 104.8 passer rating is highest in stadium history. He’s thrown 10 touchdowns and no interceptions at the Linc. The Eagles haven’t swept the Cowboys since 2011, and they’re 4-9 in the last 13 meetings, although that includes two meaningless games. Since the inception of the NFC East in 1970, when either the Eagles or Cowboys have won the NFC East title, whoever won the second game of the season series has won the division 26 of 32 times.

Sports betting notes: Quinyon Mitchell’s DROY odds, and that clumsy bet by NFC East rivals – PHLY
No Eagles player has ever won Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year. Not Brian Dawkins. Not Fletcher Cox. Not even Reggie White, who had 13 sacks in 1985. Some voters didn’t love the idea that White had spent the previous two years in the USFL. Felt like it diminished his “rookie” status. (Colts linebacker Duane Bickett was the AP’s DROY in 1985. Probably win some drinks with that trivia question. Reggie was second.) We bring this up because many sportsbooks have recently posted their odds for various NFL awards and Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell is listed in the second tier of BetParx’ favorites at 12-1 as of Tuesday morning.

2024 NFL schedule, What We Learned: Three biggest matchups, takeaways for all 32 teams –
Tough post-bye gauntlet. The Cowboys avoid the dreaded three-game road trip, but they have a sneaky-tough stretch coming out of their Week 7 bye. They play at San Francisco on Sunday night and play the following Sunday in Atlanta (with Kirk Cousins) at 1 p.m. Then they go home to face the Eagles and Texans back-to-back.

Dallas Cowboys 2024 NFL schedule release: Dates, times, primetime games and more – Blogging The Boys
Playing on a Thursday night so early in the season is extremely weird and uncommon. In fact, since the dawn of Thursday Night Football in 2006 this has never happened. Getting one out of the way is nice, but having to experience a road Thursday game is something Dallas had avoided until 2022 when they played the Tennessee Titans. Amazon has paid a lot for the TNF package and clearly want to get their money’s worth. Now the Cowboys will have two separate parts of their season with Thursday interruptions.

A way-too-early prediction of the Giants’ 2024 season record – Big Blue View
Week 18 — at Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles’ rookie cornerbacks have now come of age, and they shut down the Giants’ passing offense, with help from a ferocious pass rush, in a game the Eagles have to win to make the playoffs. Lock is benched at halftime, and Tommy DeVito plays the second half, but Saquon Barkley scores two TDs as the Giants finish the season with a loss. 8-9

What are the odds? The Washington Commanders open the season as road underdogs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders open up the 2024 season as 3.5-point road underdogs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The O/U opens at 42. The Commanders currently have an over/under of 6.5 wins for the season, which would be an improvement over last year. A lot will depend on rookie QB Jayden Daniels, and the teams ability to protect and support him as he transitions from LSU to the NFL.
