Shanahan also explained when Kittle suffered his injury

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to the media Friday after practice to provide a few injury updates. Here’ the final injury report for Sunday’s game:

Out: CB K’Waun Williams (calf)

Doubtful: CB Josh Norman (chest)

Questionable: TE George Kittle (calf)

DT Javon Kinlaw (knee)

RB Elijah Mitchell (shoulder)

Shanahan on Kittle: “I think we’ll have a pretty good idea tomorrow. I think I said earlier in the week that he’d be all right. The fact that he wasn’t able to go on Thursday worried us a little bit. The fact that he could do a little bit today was much more encouraging than it was yesterday. Hopefully, we have that same result tomorrow.”

Kittle said, “Dealing with some swelling, little pain and doing what we can to make sure I’m available Sunday. I’m going to do everything I can to be on the field Sunday. If my body says I can go, I’ll be out there.”

Shanahan said Kittle was stepped up either in the Detroit or Philly game, and it bothered Kittle pretty good: The fact that it was bothering him more this week concerned us a little bit more.”

Josh Norman will go through more tests on Saturday to determine whether he’ll play Sunday. We’re looking at Dre Kirkpatrick and Emmanuel Moseley outside with Deommodore Lenoir in the slot. As for Ambry

Shanahan said we might see Trenton Cannon receive some touches: “We have no problem putting him in at running back. He has playmaking ability which he’s shown as a returner, and there’s no reason we wouldn’t use him.”

On losing Raheem Mostert: “When you lose your No. 1 back, that’s huge deal. The hardest thing too with losing Raheem was the way we lost Jeff Wilson in training camp.”

Shanahan said Elijah Mitchell did a “hell of a job” filling in and that Trey Sermon had a better week this week than last week and is “excited to see what he can do with his opportunities” this week. Shanahan said Sermon did well during practice working on what they’ve tried to get him to improve on week over week.

Shanahan said Mitchell did a little more in practice this week than he did last week, and it continues to be a pain tolerance issue with the rookie running back. So the 49ers will give Mitchell “as long as he can” to get ready for Sunday.

Shanahan said Aaron Banks would have to practice a lot and miss all of the time he has set him back. Banks has spent the past four weeks on the scout team playing himself into shape. Shanahan said it’d been a similar process that Laken Tomlinson went through when he first came to San Francisco. However, it didn’t sound like Banks would be playing anytime soon.

Here’s a look at the Seahawks injury report:

Out: RB Rashaad Penny (calf), T Brandon Shell (ankle)

Doubtful: WR D’Wayne Eskridge (concussion)

Questionable: WR Tyler Lockett (hip), LB Benson Mayowa (neck), DE Alton Robinson (knee)
