The 6-foot-7, 245-pound Snowden entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2021. He spent his rookie year on Chicago’s practice squad, appearing in two games. With the Bucs down a key pass rusher in Shaq Barrett, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon against Baltimore, the team is looking for more players that can get to the quarterback.

Snowden A Developmental Talent For The Bucs

Snowden remained with the Bears until he was waived on August 30, 2022. The Silver Spring, Maryland, native played 45 games at the University of Virginia, tallying 190 tackles (30.5 for loss), 15.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions, earning him second-team All-ACC honors in 2020.

Snowden’s college career at Virginia ended prematurely when he broke his right ankle in his third to last college game against Abilene Christian. Snowden missed the Cavaliers’ final two games of the 2020 season and went undrafted as a result. He had six sacks as a senior and five sacks as a junior.

Snowden will wear No. 48 for Tampa Bay.
