The Indianapolis Colts received another positive injury update on Tuesday, as 3x NFL All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard returned to the field for his first training camp practice—following earlier offseason ‘cleanup’ ankle surgery:

For what it’s also worth, both starting quarterback Carson Wentz and Quenton Nelson were seen at Tuesday’s practice ‘bootless’, watching their teammates on the side.

If there was additional cause for concern though, starting right tackle Braden Smith was seen with a boot on his left foot, although Colts head coach Frank Reich described it as mere ‘maintenance’, and that it was a rest day. It’s a situation to continue monitoring though—especially with all of the foot injuries already shockingly endured by the Colts.

Meanwhile, a few other key Colts: All-Pro defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and starting safety Julian Blackmon were both held out of action—although as of a few days ago, Buckner was ‘trending in the right direction’.

Lastly, veteran free agent left tackle signee Eric Fisher has recently ‘looked good’ in his ongoing rehabilitation from a season-ending torn Achilles he suffered late last season with the Kansas City Chiefs—and perhaps could have an earlier return than initially expected.
