Following their fifth consecutive loss Monday night—a 20-3 defeat against the Los Angeles Chargers—the Indianapolis Colts currently hold the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

Interim head coach Jeff Saturday has not won since his first game in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Colts continue to show they are among the bottom of the league.

Because the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Denver Broncos in Week 16, the Colts moved up one spot in the draft order, and they now hold a top-five pick, according to Tankathon.

It will be interesting to see how the offseason shakes out. With a top-five pick, there are several ways the Colts can go. They could have a strong chance to grab a potential quarterback of the future or even find their way into a blue-chip prospect like edge rusher Will Anderson.

With Chris Ballard expected to be the general manager this offseason (for now), they will have to hire a new head coach. That certainly could have an impact on the direction they go during the draft.

Their Week 17 opponent, the New York Giants, will be vying for a playoff spot so there’s a good chance that losing streak extends to six games.

We’ll see just how the draft order looks at the end of the season, but Colts fans will have just two more games before this season mercifully ends.
