The Lions now have four of their seven draft picks under contract.

On Thursday, the Detroit Lions wrap up their final Organized Team Activity practice. But before the young players who remain in Allen Park break until training camp in late July, the Lions wanted to make sure they had at least one more rookie under contract.

The team announced on Thursday afternoon that Lions second-round pick Levi Onwuzurike signed his rookie contract. Though terms of the deal have not been released, rookie contracts are typically four years. For reference, the player who was selected 41st overall in the 2020 draft—same spot as Onwuzurike in 2021—signed a four-year, $7.8 million deal last year (Colts RB Jonathan Taylor).

With that signing the Lions now have four of their seven draft picks under contract: first-round pick Penei Sewell, third-round pick Alim McNeill, seventh-round pick Jermar Jefferson, and Onwuzurike. The three draft picks still unsigned are cornerback Ifeatu Melifonwu, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and linebacker Derrick Barnes.
