Quincy and Quinnen Williams made history on Sunday, becoming the first brothers to record sacks in the same game for the same team since the stat became official in 1982, per Elias Sports Bureau.

Quinnen, the younger sibling at 23, brought Ryan Tannehill down twice in the Jets’ 27-24 overtime win over the Titans. Quincy’s sack was the first of the 25-year-old’s NFL career.

With Quinnen on the defensive line and Quincy playing linebacker, the brothers littered the stat sheet on Sunday:

Tackles Solo Sacks TFL PD QB HTS
Quincy Williams 12 10 1 2 1 1
Quinnen Williams 7 6 2 1 0 2

The brothers’ dynamic afternoon followed a moment meant to honor their late mother.

Prior to the game, the Williams met with cancer survivors at MetLife Stadium. They lost their mom, Marquischa Henderson Williams, to breast cancer when Quinnen was 12 and Quincy was 15. She was 37 when she died.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“It was amazing,” Quinnen said of the meet and greet. “I believe it was six people. Four of them actually had breast cancer and they actually wore pink. That was just amazing to see because me and my brother, we always wear pink.

“It was just an amazing opportunity to get to speak to those people and talk to those people and see a big smile on their face getting to meet us.”

Quincy, meanwhile, dedicated the game to his mother while the brothers discussed the Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer campaign with SNY’s Jeane Coakley:

With more chances to raise awareness for breast cancer on the horizon — Quinnen said he and Quincy may wear pink next weekend against the Falcons in London — the Jets can only hope that the tandem continues to produce like it did in Week 4.

The Jets expect Quinnen, the third overall pick in 2019, to put up numbers like he did Sunday after a breakout 2020. Quincy, meanwhile, has been a pleasant surprise after the Jets claimed him off waivers from the Jaguars before the season.

“We both don’t care about being on the team [together],” Quinnen said in early September. “We care about going out and executing to the best of our abilities and winning football games because the only thing that matters to us is winning.”

Now the brothers have their first win together — and their own special place in the history books.
