Time to analyze the Philadelphia Eagles’ snap counts from their Week 5 win over the Carolina Panthers.

OFFENSE

• The Eagles went with Andre Dillard at left tackle, Landon Dickerson at left guard, Jason Kelce at center, Jack Driscoll at right guard, and Jordan Mailata at right tackle.
• Dickerson didn’t finish the game. It’s not exactly clear why. The Eagles didn’t announce an injury. Perhaps it was due to struggles?
• DeVonta Smith nearly played the entire game. He saw eight targets, which honestly isn’t even enough. The Eagles should be funneling even more of their offense through him.
• Jalen Reagor, Zach Ertz, and Miles Sanders combined for just 38 yards on 16 targets.
• For the first time all season, Quez Watkins finally outsnapped Reagor. We’ve been calling for this from the beginning. Kudos to the coaching staff for finally delivering and not just playing Reagor more because he was a first-round pick. With that said, there’s no good reason to be forcing five targets to Reagor while Watkins only gets three.

Watkins this season: 17 targets, 13 recs, 267 yards (20.5 average), 0 TD
Reagor this season: 25 targets, 17 recs, 140 yards (8.2 average), 1 TD

• Sanders touched the ball 16 times on his 50 snaps. His rushing numbers were OK with 11 carries for 45 yards. He ran out of bounds TWICE late in the game, which was incredibly dumb. Sanders was a non-factor as a pass-catcher with just six receiving yards on five receptions.
• Dallas Goedert only saw three targets, logging two receptions for 28 yards. His 20-yard reception over the middle to set up the Eagles’ go-ahead touchdown was pretty big.
• Ertz would’ve had a bigger day if Jalen Hurts was able to hit him on a wheel route instead of way overthrowing him and getting picked.
• After seeing a season-high in snap counts last week, Kenny Gainwell saw a season-low this week. And some of his playing time only came because Sanders proved untrustworthy to stay in bounds on Philly’s final drive. Gainwell gained 24 yards on his three touches. Need to get him more involved.
• Nate Herbig took snaps with Dickerson not finishing the game.
• Greg Ward’s most memorable moment was getting called for offensive pass interference to wipe out DeVonta Smith’s second career TD reception.
• JJAW is up to 42 snaps and 0 targets. Will the Eagles ever throw him a pass to keep the defense honest and not just assume he’s only a blocker?

DEFENSE

• Anthony Harris has yet to really stand out but he hasn’t missed a snap this season.
• The Eagles have been using more nickel defense the past two weeks with Avonte Maddox logging his two highest snap percentages of the season.
• 75% is a season-high for Josh Sweat. His playing time has increased each of the past three games. Interesting to see he played the most snaps of any defensive lineman.
• Fletcher Cox finally got off the schneid with a sack and two quarterback hits. He was way overdue. He was able to take advantage of an underwhelming Panthers offensive line, as he should.
• Second week in a row where Rodney McLeod has only played 72% of the snaps. Eagles seem to be easing him back in.
• Javon Hargrave played a nice percentage of snaps and was productive as ever.
• Genard Avery saw his second-highest snap count of the season. Did some good things out there!
• Eric Wilson saw his least playing time of the season. His previous low percentage was 63.2% in Week 3. Good adjustment. He’s been bad.
• Davion Taylor saw the most playing time of his entire NFL career in Carolina. He made some good open field tackles. Keep playing him. Unlike some of the vets, he actually offers long-term potential.
• Ryan Kerrigan finally recorded a stat! His first and only in 142 snaps this season.
• T.J. Edwards played the least of any Eagles defender but came up huge for the Eagles on special teams with his blocked punt.

SPECIAL TEAMS

• Shaun Bradley admitted he should’ve tried to scoop and score on the Eagles’ blocked punt recovery.

• For the second week in a row, Patrick Johnson was limited to ST snaps only.
• Not pictured in the screenshot: Jake Elliott played eight snaps and Le’Raven Clark played four in his Eagles debut.
