Eagles vs. Buccaneers first quarter game thread

Game time.

Everyone knows the Philadelphia Eagles have their work cut out for them as they host the reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers tonight. It’s a tough spot for the Birds on nationally televised Thursday Night Football.

There are some things that make you wonder if the Eagles can actually pull off the upset. Maybe the home crowd at Lincoln Financial Field helps? Maybe the short week actually works in Philly’s favor? Maybe Tom Brady’s thumb issue is a bigger problem than we currently realize?

Or maybe this game will be cut and dry and the Bucs will soundly outclass an inferior Eagles team.

One man who might be able to prevent that much from happening is Jalen Hurts. The Eagles really need their starting quarterback to bring his A-game for this one. We’ll see if he can keep up with the GOAT.

Kickoff is set for 8:20 PM.
