Giants could be on the verge of getting a key player back in their lineup

Adoree’ Jackson, out since Week 11 with a sprained MCL, will return to practice on Wednesday for the New York Giants. Head coach Brian Daboll said that Jackson will be “doing some stuff” and will be listed as a limited practice participant.

Jackson, the Giants’ best cornerback, has been out of the lineup since being injured while returning a punt against the Detroit Lions.

Daboll did not, of course, guarantee that Jackson would play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Wednesday, though, is the first time Jackson has practiced since being injured.

Shane Lemieux to IR

The season is over for Giants’ guard Shane Lemieux. He suffered a toe injury that required surgery in the first preseason game, returned from IR Week 11 vs. the Lions, played the first half and has not played since.

This is two consecutive seasons in which Lemieux, a 2020 fifth-round pick, has been injured and managed to appear in just one game.

The Giants have not yet announced a corresponding roster move.

More injury updates

Daboll said that Xavier McKinney (hand) would not practice on Wednesday. He offered no timetable for McKinney’s return, saying only that he is “getting there.”

Azeez Ojulari (ankle) and Leonard Williams (neck) will be limited practice participants. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence will get a veteran rest day.
