Giants close within 4: Graham Gano hit a 23-yard field goal to ull the Giants within four points, 14-10, with 8:40 left in the third quarter. The Giants reached New Orleans’ 2-yard line before their drive stalled.

Saints quickly take third-quarter lead: The Saints opened the third quarter by going 75 yards in three plays to take 4-7 lead. A 58-yard pass to Marquez Callaway started the drive. Taysome Hill ended it with an 8-yard run, breaking a number of tackles along the way. New Orleans leads, 14-7, with 13:24 left in third quarter.

Halftime stats: The Giants and Saints are tied, 7-7, at the half. Daniel Jones is 7 of 12 for 116 yards passing with one interception. Saquon Barkley has 34 yards rushing on seven carries. Kenny Golladay has two catches for 40 yards.

Saints tie it up: New Orleans went 75 yards in 13 plays to tie the score, 7-7. The touchdown came on a pass from Jameis Winston to Juwan Johnson on a third-and-15 with :23 left in the half.

John Ross makes an impact: One play after Aldrick Rosas missed a 58-yard field goal, Daniel Jones hit John Ross with a 52-yard scoring pass to give the Giants a 7-0 lead with 8:51 left in the half. The catch was the first as a Giant for Ross, who missed the season’s first three games with a hamstring injury.

Rosas misses from 58: Former Giant Aldrick Rosas missed a 58-yard field goal with 9:05 left in the half to keep the game scoreless. Rosas’ kick was long enough, by just wide to the right.

Gano’s streak ends: Graham Gano missed a field goal from 35 yards with 13:15 left in the second quarter, his first miss in 38 field-goal attempts. The Giants chose the field-goal attempt instead of going for the first down on fourth-and-1 at the New Orleans’ 16-yard line.

No score after one quarter: The Giants and Saints are tied, 0-1, after the first quarter. The Giants defense got a stop on fourth-and-3 at their own 29. Oh, and there was a Kadarius Toney sighting.

The 0-3 New York Giants have been good at only one thing so far this season — finding ways to turn winnable games into infuriating losses. On Sunday, the Giants are on the road against the New Orleans Saints, and the expectation is that the misery will continue for the Giants.

New York is reeling not only from lost games, but from lost players. Nick Gates, Blake Martinez and Shane Lemieux are all out for the year, though there is some vague hope that Lemieux could return at season’s end. Wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton won’t play this week with hamstring injuries. Third-round pick Aaron Robinson (core muscles) and fourth-round pick Elerson Smith (hamstring) have yet to ply, Key special teamer Cam Brown (hamstring) is on IR.
