The Jacksonville Jaguars’ playoff hopes are dwindling fast amid a five-game losing streak, but the flip side is that the team is quickly finding itself in familiar territory in the 2023 NFL Draft.

After dropping to 2-6 with a loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 8, the Jaguars are now fifth in the draft order. Here is the full top 10 at the end of October with the strength of schedule tiebreaker (lower picks first) in parentheses.

  1. Detroit Lions: 1-6 (.576)
  2. Houston Texans: 1-5-1 (.531)
  3. Carolina Panthers: 2-6 (.440)
  4. Pittsburgh Steelers: 2-6 (.515)
  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: 2-6 (.535)
  6. Las Vegas Raiders: 2-5 (.465)
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3-5 (.455)
  8. Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans Saints): 3-5 (.470)
  9. Houston Texans (via Cleveland Browns): 3-5 (.477)
  10. Seattle Seahawks (via Denver Broncos): 3-5 (.480)

The Jaguars have picked in the top 10 in all but one of the last 15 NFL drafts, although the team traded up into the top 10 in both 2008 and 2011.

Jacksonville owned the first overall pick in each of the last two drafts and used them to select quarterback Trevor Lawrence and outside linebacker Travon Walker.
