Jay Glazer says Zach Ertz or Dallas Goedert could end up being traded in the next week.

The NFL trade deadline is just over two weeks away, and Jay Glazer reported pre-game on Thursday that the Eagles may move one of their tight ends, either Zach Ertz or Dallas Goedert, sometime in the next week.

“Several teams around the NFL have been calling the Eagles this week about trading for one of their tight ends, Zach Ertz or Dallas Goedert. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them got traded sometime this week.”

Ertz has been linked to more than enough trade rumors throughout the offseason, but when he reported for training camp and was on the roster in Week 1, speculation dwindled a bit that he would be on his way out of Philly. The TE has been emotional on more than one occasion about his love and appreciation for the Eagles and the City of Philadelphia, and hasn’t been shy about his hopes to finish out the rest of his career in Midnight Green.

Goedert has been in talks with the organization for a contract extension all offseason, but those simmered once the season started. The young tight end is playing on the fourth and final year of his rookie contract, and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason — if the Eagles aren’t looking to Goedert as the future, now is probably the time to make a deal.

The Eagles offense under Nick Sirianni hasn’t been as TE-friendly as it was under Doug Pederson and the usage of 12-personnel. Sirianni is really into RPOs and as much as quarterback Jalen Hurts tries to spread the ball around, Ertz and Goedert just haven’t been consistently part of the game plan. Through five games, Ertz has 14 receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown, and Goedert has 15 catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns.

We’ll see if these are just more rumors, or if Howie Roseman actually makes a moves in the coming days.
