The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed WR Laquon Treadwell. To make room for Treadwell on the 90-man roster, the Jaguars have waived WR Jon’Vea Johnson.

Treadwell, 26, was originally selected by the Vikings in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, selecting him 23rd overall. He would go on to spend four seasons with the team, never quite living up to expectations.

The team would decline Treadwell’s fifth-year option, along with releasing him prior to re-signing him in 2019 just after the season began. During his time in Minnesota, Treadwell would catch 65 passes for 701 yards and two touchdowns.

Last year, Treadwell signed with the Atlanta Falcons appearing in just five games for the team. During his time in Atlanta, Treadwell caught six passes for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

At 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Treadwell entered the league with high expectations following a stellar career at Ole Miss, accumulating 202 receptions for 2,383 yards and 21 touchdowns during his time there. He would be recruited by Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer coming out of high school while Meyer coached Ohio State.

Treadwell attended Ole Miss from 2013-2015. He registered a school-record 202 receptions for 2,393 yards and 21 touchdowns in his collegiate career, including 82 receptions for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns en route to First-Team All-SEC and Third-Team All-American honors in 2015.
