Let’s see how former Eagles did around the NFL in Week 7

There were A LOT of big plays from Philadelphia alumni throughout the league this week.

The Eagles are now 2-5 and while the highlight reel is a bit bare these last few weeks, some of the team’s former players are lighting it up around the league. Zach Ertz wasted no time contributing to the Cardinals offense on Sunday, Carson Wentz led the Colts to their second win in a row, and Chandon Sullivan and Rasul Douglas came up big for the Packers.

Here’s how things went in Week 7 for some former Eagles:

Zach Ertz shines in Cardinals debut

It’s not entirely surprising that a tight end, and player in general, of Zach Ertz’s caliber would make an instant impact with one of the league’s top quarterbacks and explosive offenses. And that’s exactly what he did. Ertz finished the day 3-of-5 targets for 66 yards and a touchdown, and also carried the ball once for 4 yards. He finished the day with his second-highest yards per catch of the season, 13.2, and his 47 yard TD reception was the longest in his career.

Ertz’s best friend and new teammate Jordan Hicks didn’t get as much playing time on Sunday, only seeing the field for 64 percent of the defensive snaps and recording two total tackles, but it appeared the team was trying to get the veteran some rest in a game they were clearly going to win — the Cardinals are now 7-0 after beating the Texans 31-5.

As for former Eagles on Houston’s sideline in Week 7, LB Kamu Grugier-Hill made six total tackles with 100 percent of the defensive snaps, and CB Tremon Smith tried his first kick return of the season and made a nice 27-yard play. Wide receiver Danny Amendola was back on the field for the first time in five weeks, and went 3-for-5 for 17 yards and also returned a kick for 15 yards. Cameron Johnston had a season-high seven punts on Sunday for 344 yards.

Safety Terrence Brooks ended up on the Texans’ IR list after suffering a lung contusion in Week 6 that left him in the hospital in Indianapolis for a night before returning to Houston.

Colts win two in a row

For those keeping track, Carson Wentz has now taken 100 percent of the Colts’ offensive snaps five weeks in a row, and six games out of seven — the Week 2 game, he was on the field for 93 percent of snaps —, so chances that Indy’s first-round pick ends up with the Eagles keeps looking better.

Wentz also looks every bit like a starting-caliber quarterback, going 17-of-26 (65.38 percent completion) for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He didn’t throw any interceptions in Week 7, but did cough up the ball twice, failing to recover it once, and was sacked once, as well. Winning is of course going to make the game fun for players, but Wentz looks more and more comfortable as the weeks go on, and more like the guy he was in Philly a couple years ago.

Sullivan had the perfect INT celebration

Chandon Sullivan nabbed his first interception of the season during the Packers win on Sunday, and he was proudly able to give that ball to his father, who was in the stands for the first time to see Sullivan play in the NFL.

Sullivan’s former and current teammate Rasul Douglas also had a big game for Green Bay on Sunday, and had a huge hit on the Washington ball carrier to force a fumble.

Nelson Agholor scores TD despite less playing time

For the first time since Week 1, Nelson Agholor scored a touchdown for the Patriots. New England won BIG on Sunday against the Jets, 54-13, and the wide receiver finished the day 2-of-5 targets for 51 yards and a score.

Despite Agholor getting the touchdown, the former Eagle has seen his offensive snap count continue to drop each week, resulting in his fewest, just 57 percent, in Week 7.

Mack Hollins’ first TD of the season

The former Eagles’ wide receiver had to fill in as a starter last week due to injuries to the Dolphins’ offense, and while he didn’t get to keep the starting role, he did see considerably more playing time in Week 7. Hollins was on the field for 53 percent of Miami’s offensive snaps against the Falcons, his second-most of the season, and went 2-of-3 for 13 yards and his first touchdown of the year.

Another former Eagle had a big game for the Dolphins on Sunday, safety Eric Rowe tied his season-high with nine total tackles, and also had a big pass breakup.

The Bodyguard no more

Jason Peters might be one of the top-rated lineman in Chicago, but that doesn’t mean things are going well for him with his new team. For the second week in a row, the Bears offensive line has given up four sacks, and rookie QB has been taken down a crazy 22 times in just six games.

Inactives, Injuries and Byes

• There were several teams on bye in Week 7: Buffalo Bills (Ryan Bates, Jordan Poyer), Dallas Cowboys (Corey Clement), Jacksonville Jaguars (Rudy Ford), Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers (Chase Daniel).
• Offensive tackle Dennis Kelly missed the Packers Week 6 game due to illness, and missed their Week 7 matchup due to a back injury.
