Giants will reach playoffs for first time since 2016 with a victory, but can still get in even if they lose
The New York Giants can clinch their first playoff berth since 2016 with a victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The 8-6-1 Giants are 3-point favorites over the 4-9-1 Colts, who face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.
The Giants are hoping for a victory celebration with their home fans on Sunday.

The Giants can clinch a playoff spot in Week 17 even if they lose to the Colts. Per @NFLPlayoffScenarios on Twitter, here’s how:
Washington Commanders loss + Detroit Lions loss + Green Bay Packers loss
OR
Washington loss + Seattle Seahawks loss
OR
Seattle loss + Detroit loss + Green Bay loss/tie
Of course, it would be preferable if the Giants just defeat the struggling Colts and win their way in.
As he usually does, Giants coach Brian Daboll tried to downplay the importance of this coming Sunday after the team’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
“Every game is important,” Daboll said. “We’ve got to make sure we do a good job of game planning, executing, decision-making. They’re all big. There are only 17 of them.”
Quarterback Daniel Jones called this Sunday a “huge opportunity” for the Giants.
FiveThirtyEight currently gives the Giants an 89 percent chance of reaching the playoffs. ESPN’s Football Power Index is even more optimistic, putting the Giants’ playoff chances at 95.5 percent.
