The Cowboys offense could be getting some help back as soon as this week.

It has been over a week since we last saw the Dallas Cowboys play as the team was on their bye. This past week served as an opportunity for the Cowboys to get right and rested which happened to come at a fortuitous time with Dak Prescott suffering a calf injury during the team’s last game against the New England Patriots.

Dallas will be back in action on Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings, and when they are it seems more than likely that Prescott will be there, and what’s more is that he could have one of his top offensive weapons with him when he is.

We will have to wait a couple of more days to fully see the Cowboys practice, but when they do it seems like not only will Dak Prescott be there, but Michael Gallup as well. Appearing on 105.3 The Fan’s K&C Masterpiece on Monday, Stephen Jones noted that Gallup should be back and that Trysten Hill might be as well.

“I think DeMarcus Lawrence and (Neville) Gallimore still need time. I don’t think they’re going to start practicing anytime soon. We do intend to (have Michael Gallup start practicing this week). We’re looking at Trysten Hill, and maybe starting to practice him this week, and Bernard Francis. So three more added to (Sean) McKeon and Kelvin Joseph (practice this week).”

While Jones noted that both DeMarcus Lawrence and Neville Gallimore will need a bit more time, this is welcome news. Michael Gallup is one of the best players on the Cowboys roster and getting him back will only raise the floor of a group that is performing incredibly well so far this season.

Trysten Hill has yet to be seen so far this year as he opened training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list and has been out ever since. Hill tore his ACL during the same game that Dak Prescott was lost for the season in 2020, but prior to that had certainly improved upon his rookie season (although that was a low bar).

Reinforcements should be on the way very soon.

UPDATE: The Cowboys have made their moves.
