With the Tennessee Titans in the midst of a transition year, the team hasn’t made many big-impact moves this offseason to improve their outlook for 2023.

While the Titans addressed their offensive line, the jury is still out on every projected starter. Adding to that, the team has done nothing to improve its wide receiver corps., which remains the worst in the NFL.

The Titans have added some promising players on defense and stand to be very good on that side of the ball, but the unit still has its fair share of question marks at multiple starting spots.

Tennessee’s draft class has mostly been praised by analysts but the group may not do much to help the team immediately, and that’s almost certainly true when it comes to wide receiver.

When taking everything into account, CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin slapped a “D” on the Titans’ offseason moves. Here’s what he had to say:

Not a single one of their many veteran losses was egregious; in fact, they probably could’ve gone further, with both QB Ryan Tannehill and RB Derrick Henry well-trodden and expensive. But new GM Ran Carthon is taking some sensible low-risk, high-reward flyers at key spots in OT Andre Dillard, OLB Arden Key and CB Sean Murphy-Bunting. Early draft picks OT Peter Skoronski and QB Will Levis could prove to be great value selections, but the latter isn’t necessarily entering a prime environment for growth, considering the OL uncertainty and lacking WR corps.

The “D” was tied for the lowest grade handed out by Benjamin, who gave four other teams that mark as well.

General manager Ran Carthon has no doubt been betting on upside with a lot of his moves, but that has also led to the aforementioned question marks on both sides of the ball.

No matter if you’re high or low on what the Titans have done this offseason, we can all agree this team has its sights set on 2024, when the Titans will be low on draft picks but flush with cap space.
