The Baltimore Ravens have many needs that they will look to fill as 2022 free agency gets underway in just a matter of days. They could opt to sign playmakers on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, which both have big holes on them.

When identifying one 2022 free agent that each NFL team must sign, Ben Linsey of Pro Football Focus chose New York Jets defensive lineman Folorunso Fatukasi as his pick for Baltimore. Linsey explained that Fatukasi was an elite run-defender in 2019 and 2020, and would fit in nicely on the Ravens’ somewhat uncertain defensive line at the moment.

“The Ravens seemingly always have a large run-stuffing nose tackle in the middle of their defensive line. And Fatukasi fits that mold. He ranked in the 97th percentile of all interior defensive linemen in PFF run-defense grade across the 2019 and 2020 seasons before falling back in that department in 2021 for the Jets. Brandon Williams and Justin Ellis are set to hit free agency for Baltimore this offseason, leaving the Ravens to replace their snaps.”

Fatukasi was a sixth-round selection of New York back in the 2018 draft, and has accumulated 115 total tackles across 45 games in the NFL. However, that doesn’t tell the whole story, as he’s established himself as a dominant interior run stuffer, which Baltimore could desperately need depending on the status of their own pending free agent defensive linemen.
