Wednesday August 18th is the next time the Los Angeles Rams will face live action against another squad. In their second joint practice, the Rams will host the Las Vegas Raiders.

Here are some three things to look for from the offense:

  1. Will quarterback Matthew Stafford continue to connect at all levels? All through training camp and also during the joint session with the Dallas Cowboys, Stafford has shown that he is willing to mix in a good amount of downfield shots to stretch the field. And stretch it will with many of those shots being completed like one deep to DeSean Jackson against the Cowboys.
  2. Will WR Cooper Kupp and TE Tyler Higbee stay on track as the primary targets? Kupp and Higbee appear to be projected as the main targets as they were the most active pass catchers in training camp. Sean McVay may try to spread the ball around or work in a rotation to get a better look at some of the other receivers like, Van Jefferson, DeSean Jackson, or Jacob Harris, but if the aim of the joint session is to continue building chemistry and timing with the primary connections, look for Kupp and Higbee to be named in the post session notes.
  3. How will the offensive line look? With Brian Allen being declared the starting center and Austin Corbett the right guard, will the front stop the rush and provide push for the running backs against the Raiders? We’ll again look here for McVay to use some reps to let the starters work out some cohesion under organized live fire, but also rotate some depth to gain clarity on who can be relied on come September.
