Thaddeus Moss is making a big play for the final roster at Cincinnati Bengals training camp.

With the third spot behind C.J. Uzomah and Drew Sample up for grabs, Joe Burrow’s former LSU teammate has started to stand out on the field when given the chance.

Wednesday, Moss shook loose of coverage while working with the second team and snagged a 20-yard gain over the middle from veteran Brandon Allen.

Let’s just say Allen likes what he sees from the second-year pro.

“He had a nice size advantage and he went up to make a play,” Allen said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “He plays bigger than he is like a lot of guys do in the league. He’s definitely one of them. He goes up and makes plays. He’s got a lot of athleticism in him, he’s smart and goes make plays.”

Moss had injuries that initially derailed his path to the draft and he only lasted one year in Washington. But what he’s displaying now while healthy is why the Bengals pounced on him when he hit the waiver wire.

Simply making the roster would be a big first step for Moss, who certainly looks the part. With the way he’s playing and with the way others on the bubble might be struggling (see below), he seems well on his way.
