On this week’s episode, we also hit on the initial 49ers’ 90-man Depth Chart.

It’s time for a football game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. However, unlike the last time these two teams met in Miami, this will be the preseason opener and have no Lombardi Trophy for the winner.

49ers’ fans have been eagerly awaiting the debut of No. 3 overall pick Trey Lance since the moment he was drafted. Kyle Posey and I hit on what to expect from the preseason opener, how long the quarterbacks will play, and some other interesting matchups to pay attention to as the game goes.

We start by discussing the initial depth chart, which was released on Tuesday night. As always, this is put together by the public relations staff — not the coaching staff. But we go through and list out some surprises and some potential cuts.

Listen to the full episode below:

Kyle and I also discuss Jalen Hurd’s dwindling chances of making the roster and if the 49ers should only keep two quarterbacks to save the roster spot for a different position group. Finally, we through some of the injuries to other players on this team and see how that impacts playing time in the preseason.
