Yesterday, we mentioned that the Tennessee Titans had a couple of spots open after some routine roster churning. We expected them to fill those spots quickly, and that’s exactly what they did today with a pair of signings. Firstly, they added veteran tight end Gabe Holmes, per Jim Wyatt.

We figured the team may add a tight end, after Donnie Ernsberger was signed and quickly released due to an injury suffered in practice. Holmes will now make up the numbers at the tight end position. Holmes is a veteran that broke into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders back in 2015. He’s since spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, and most recently, was with the Miami Dolphins just last week. He also had a stint in the XFL with the St. Louis BattleHawks.

The Titans weren’t done there. They also added a veteran safety in the form of Tedric Thompson, per Ian Rapoport.

Thompson was a pretty popular prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft. He was ultimately drafted in the fourth round by the Seattle Seahawks, and would go on to play there until 2020. He’s since played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos.

The Titans take on the Atlanta Falcons in their first preseason game this Friday.
