The Chicago Bears have had some memorable first-round picks during their storied 103-year history. But they’ve also had plenty of busts that set the franchise back.

Chicago hasn’t had much success in the first round in recent history — whether it was during the Jerry Angelo, Phil Emery or Ryan Pace eras. The hope is that changes with the Bears expected to select Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

General manager Ryan Poles is in a favorable position, despite having just four selections in this year’s draft. All four of those come within the first four rounds, including two top-10 selections. On top of that No. 1 pick, Chicago will be picking ninth overall. So they have a chance to land a pair of blue chip players to set the foundation moving forward.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t always been pretty for the Bears in the first round. Here’s a look at the 10 worst first-round picks by the Bears in team history, a list that includes some brutal busts.
