2021 NFL season Week 1 expert picks: Predicting all 16 opening games

Our staff makes their predictions for the Week 1 slate.

The long wait is over. The NFL 2021 regular season is here!

On Thursday night, football season officially begins with the World Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Dallas Cowboys for “Thursday Night Football.” While the game itself has very little interest to most Detroit Lions fans—though I suppose you could argue this early in the season that it has NFC WILD CARD IMPLICATIONS—Thursday more represents the return of football.

As such, our weekly picks have returned. Throughout the year, our staff will make our game predictions for every matchup on the schedule. Some have chosen to go above and beyond and also pick the games against the spread and the over unders—which you can check using the tabs in the top right—but mostly, this is us picking the games straight up. Our friends at Tallysight have put together the software to keep track of our records, so you can see which member of Pride of Detroit is the one you can trust the most.

Enough yammering. Here’s a look at our Week 1 picks for the 2021 NFL season.
