After a disappointing defeat in Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings will once again hit the road in Week 2. Their opponent this week, the Arizona Cardinals, looks to pose a very stiff test for a team that had plenty of issues in their opening week loss.

In a game marred by penalties and other miscues, the Vikings fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime in Week 1 by a score of 27-24. Despite committing 17 penalties (12 of which were accepted), the Vikings still had an opportunity to leave Cincinnati with their first road win over the Bengals since 1992, but a late fumble by Dalvin Cook and another defensive lapse ensure that it wouldn’t happen.

The Cardinals, on the other hand, were outstanding in Week 1, as they went on the road to Nashville and throttled the Tennessee Titans by a score of 38-13. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray accounted for all five of the team’s touchdowns (four passing, one rushing), and defensive end Chandler Jones put on a pretty incredible show, accounting for five sacks on the afternoon, including three in the first quarter.
