Which Tampa Bay players can continue to work their way toward history in Sunday’s game against the Falcons?
The Buccaneers got their 2021 season underway last Thursday night by sticking to their winning ways, though they didn’t put up a pretty performance on their way to a 31-29 win over the Cowboys. Nonetheless, the team is 1-0 and has now won nine straight games dating back to last season.
Tampa Bay will remain home for Week 2, hosting the division rival Atlanta Falcons (0-1) at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday afternoon. It’ll be a special occasion for more than just the game, as longtime defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin will be inducted into the franchise’s Ring of Honor at halftime. Of course, Kiffin knows plenty about making history, given that he was in charge of the Bucs’ legendary Super Bowl defense that featured the likes of Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, Ronde Barber, Simeon Rice and John Lynch.
As much as history will be celebrated with Kiffin’s induction at halftime, there are some players within Sunday’s game who can continue working their way toward team and league history throughout the afternoon. Let’s see where things stand for these guys heading into Sunday’s contest against Atlanta.

Tom Brady is up to 10th on the Bucs’ all-time passing yards list with 5,012. With 141 more on Sunday, he’ll pass Jeff Garcia (5,152) for ninth. He is 1,083 away from passing Craig Erickson (6,094) for eighth.
Career Passing Touchdowns
With four passing touchdowns against the Cowboys last Thursday, Brady now has 44 as a Buc. That’s good for eighth-most all-time, and it leaves him 18 away from passing Steve DeBerg (61) for seventh.
Career Completions
Brady now has 433 completions in his time as a Buc, placing him 11th on the all-time leaderboard. He needs 21 more to pass Jeff Garcia (453) for 10th, while 23 more will push him past Brian Griese (455) for ninth. He is 41 away from taking eighth from Craig Erickson (473).
Career Passing Attempts
Brady has attempted 660 passes in his Tampa Bay career, which is 11th-most in franchise history. With 35 more attempts, he passes Brian Griese (694) for 10th, while 44 more will put him ahead of Jeff Garcia (703) for ninth.
Career Rushing Yards
Ronald Jones II has 1,760 rushing yards in his career, leaving him 86 away from passing Jerry Eckwood (1,845) for 13th-most in Bucs history.
Career Rushing Touchdowns
Jones is stuck on 14 career rushing touchdowns, which means he needs one more to tie Earnest Graham, Peyton Barber and Lars Tate (15) for ninth-most in team history.
Career Rushing Attempts
With only four carries last week, Jones now has 391 in his career. He needs 36 more to pass LeGarrette Blount (426) for 13th-most in franchise history.
Career Receiving Yards
After a 105-yard performance in Week 1, Chris Godwin is up to 3,645 receiving yards in his career. He needs 184 more to move ahead of Keyshawn Johnson (3,828) for seventh-most in team history.
Cameron Brate is 17th on the franchise’s all-time receiving yards leaderboard. He has 2,438, which leaves him 267 yards away from taking 16th from Warrick Dunn (2,704).
Career Receiving Touchdowns
Brate’s 29 career receiving touchdowns are good enough for fourth on the Bucs’ all-time leaderboard. He is three away from taking third from Kevin House (31).
Last week, Godwin caught his 25th touchdown as a Buc, which tied him with Mike Williams for seventh-most all-time. He needs two more to tie Mark Carrier (27) for sixth.
O.J. Howard’s 14 career touchdown catches have him tied for 15th in team history. He needs two more to tie Reidel Anthony (16) for 14th.
Career Receptions
Godwin has 253 career catches, which means he’s 16 away from passing the late Vincent Jackson (268) for 10th in franchise history.
Brate has 223 catches as a Buc, leaving him 16 behind Gerald Carter (239) for 13th-most all-time.
Career Touchdowns (Total)
Mike Evans has 62 total touchdowns in his career. He needs 10 more to take the franchise record from Mike Alstott (71).
Career Solo Tackles
Lavonte David has 811 solo tackles in his career, which is good for third-most in Bucs history. He is 234 away from passing Ronde Barber (1,044) for second.
Career Tackles

According to the 2021 Buccaneers Media Guide, Jason Pierre-Paul’s 30.5 sacks as a Buc are good for eighth-most in team history. He needs three more to pass Brad Culpepper (33) for seventh.
With his sack of Dak Prescott in Week 1, Shaquil Barrett now has 28.5 for his Bucs career. That puts him ahead of Ronde Barber (28) for ninth-most all-time, and he’s two behind Pierre-Paul for eighth.
Lavonte David is stuck at 24 career sacks, which means he’s still looking for the 2.5 he needs to pass Greg Spires (26) and tie Broderick Thomas (26.5) for 11th.

David notched his 52nd career pass defended last week, which means he is only three away from passing Aqib Talib (54) for fifth on the team’s all-time leaderboard.

David’s 12 career interceptions tie him with Mark Robinson, Jeris White and Dwight Smith for 12th-most in Bucs history. He’ll take sole possession of 12th with one more.
Career Forced Fumbles
David and Derrick Brooks are tied for the most forced fumbles in team history with 24. The current Tampa Bay captain needs one more to own the franchise record for himself.
Career Punts Downed Inside the 20-Yard Line
Bradley Pinion had three punts downed inside the 20-yard line against the Cowboys. That’s 41 for his Buccaneer career, which is the 10th-most in team history. He needs eight more to pass Dave Green (48) for ninth.
Career Games Played
Lavonte David will play his 139th career game on Sunday, which will leave him one away from tying Warren Sapp (140) for ninth-most in team history.
Sunday will be William Gholston’s 121st game with the Bucs, which ties him with Chidi Ahanotu, Jimmie Giles and Lee Roy Selmon for 17th-most in franchise history.
Career Starts
Sunday will mark David’s 139th career start, which will inch him closer to fourth on the team’s all-time leaderboard. That spot is currently held by Tony Mayberry (145).

Touchdown Connections (Regular Season)
Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski linked up for two touchdowns in the season opener last week. With the second score, they passed Steve Young and Jerry Rice (85) for the third-most regular season touchdown connections in NFL history. Now at 86, the Tampa Bay duo needs four more to pass Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates (89) for second-most all-time.
Touchdowns Connections (Including Postseason)
Including the postseason, Brady and Gronkowski have now connected for 100 career touchdowns. That’s good for second-most in league history, just 14 behind Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison (114) for the all-time record.
Games With 3+ Passing Touchdowns
Last week, Brady put together his 94th career game with three or more passing touchdowns. That’s already good for second-most in NFL history and he now needs just four more to take the all-time record from Drew Brees (97).
Career Receiving Yards
Antonio Brown put up 121 yards in the 2021 season opener last Thursday night, giving him 11,867 for his career. He’s now 29th on the NFL’s all-time receiving yards list and needs 38 more yards to pass Michael Irvin (11,904) for 28th. With 195 more yards, he takes 27th from Derrick Mason (12,061).

Rob Gronkowski has 8,574 receiving yards in his career, which leaves him 110 away from passing Greg Olsen (8,683) for the fifth-most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history.
Career Receiving Touchdowns
Rob Gronkowski now has 88 receiving touchdowns in his career, tying him with Don Maynard for 13th-most all-time. With three more, he ties Isaac Bruce (91) for 12th.
Brown caught his 80th career touchdown last week, which puts him in the top 30 on the NFL’s all-time leaderboard. With one more, he ties Art Powell and Steve Smith (81) for 28th, while two more will tie him with Anquan Boldin, Jimmy Graham and Reggie Wayne (82) for 25th.
Consecutive Wins With 30+ Points Scored
The Bucs have won nine straight games overall, but have scored 30-plus points in the last eight of those wins. That ties them with the 2007 and 2010 Patriots for the longest such streak in NFL history. If they win on Sunday and score 30 or more points in doing so, they’ll own the league record.
