Texans have 7 picks for 2022 NFL draft with 3 in top 100 overall

If the Houston Texans are going to get out of the mess of allowing a coach to double up as a general manager and make personnel decisions, then one of the ways it will happen is through the NFL draft.

Although the Texans haven’t played a down of meaningful football yet, Houston’s draft pick situation is starting to gain some clarity.

According to general manager Nick Caserio on April 30, the goal of the draft is about generating competition across the roster.

“It’s not necessarily going to be about one draft, one player,” Caserio said. “It’s going to be about a continuation of just continuing to add competition, just, what we try to do from day one is to create a culture of competition, selflessness, and toughness and add players.”
