The Chicago Bears have finally made their quarterback decision, trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers and electing to start over with a rookie. It’s a move that doesn’t come as a surprise, and neither should the Bears’ direction in the 2024 NFL draft, where they’re expected to select Caleb Williams with the first overall pick.

With Williams all but a lock at No. 1, the focus shifts to what Chicago will do with their second top-10 selection. Following free agency, there are still needs along the defensive line — especially at edge rusher, where there will be options on the board. The Bears could also go best available if a top wide receiver or offensive tackle falls to them. Or, given the fact Chicago has just four draft picks, they could elect to trade back.

We’ve rounded up the latest 2024 NFL mock drafts, where most experts believe the Bears will manage to land additional help for Williams in the form of a playmaking receiver — Rome Odunze or Malik Nabers — or protection in a offensive tackle.
