Nearly a full week after Arik Armstead officially signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the terms of the agreement were finally revealed Wednesday.
While initial reports indicated it was a three-year, $51 million deal for the veteran defensive lineman, the real numbers aren’t quite as rich. According to Spotrac, Armstead’s contract is actually worth $43.5 million over three years with $28 million guaranteed.
Like many of the contracts handed out by the Jaguars, Armstead’s deal has a few extra years tacked on that will automatically void, allowing the team to spread some of the salary cap hits into the future, but creating some tricky situations to eventually figure out.
