The Arizona Cardinals are losers for the first time in 2021. Not too bad.

However, in their 24-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers there were a number of individual losers as well, but we had some good performances as well.

Let’s take a look at the winners and losers in the Cardinals loss to the Packers.

Winners

Chase Edmonds – Made plays, had a touchdown and continues to show he can be a back who gets major touches on a good team. Edmonds set the Cardinals up for a game winner after getting knocked out a couple of drives earlier.

James Conner – The Cardinals rushing attack will unlikely produce a 1,000 yard rusher and that is okay. With Edmonds and Conner you have quite the duo and diverse rushing attack.

Devon Kennard – Not a ton of snaps for Kennard (12 on the initial look) but he continues to play well when asked to.

Zach Ertz – Ertz has had a whirlwind couple of games with the Cardinals but he is going to be a huge asset as he settles in over the next couple of weeks.

Losers

Sean Harlow – I hate putting Harlow on here because he played admirably, but he struggled and you can see the downgrade from Rodney Hudson to Max Garcia to Harlow.

Byron Murphy Jr. – Murphy has been spectacular in 2021, but he got Cobb’d this week. The veteran wide receiver had a number of plays that just showed his experience over the more athletically talented corner.

Isaiah Simmons – As good as Simmons has been in 2021, this was his worst performance. He made a great play early in solo coverage on Aaron Jones, but that was about the highlight of a long night.

Communication and luck – A.J. Green missed a call. Rondale Moore made a couple of mistakes. It happens, to be able to overcome both Moore slips and the Packers needing a brainfart from Green to win the game should actually give Cardinals fans a little relief. They were thoroughly outplayed, but they are so talented that they still should have won the game.

That is not the Cardinals football we are used to.
