49ers offseason roster update: Safety

Safety is one of the more fascinating areas of the 49ers’ roster going into the draft.

They presumably have a starting free safety with Jimmie Ward, and they have a number of players who’ll contend for the starting strong safety job. None of those options are certain to snag and then keep that spot alongside Ward though, making it a position San Francisco could prioritize in this year’s draft.
