The Chicago Bears wrapped up their 2024 NFL Draft by making a surprise move to trade back in after they exhausted all of their picks. General manager Ryan Poles decided to trade their 2025 fourth-round pick for No. 144 overall in this year’s draft, their original selection that they traded for offensive lineman Ryan Bates, to select defensive end Austin Booker out of Kansas.

Booker exploded in the 2023 season after transferring from Minnesota, where he totaled 56 total tackles (12 for a loss), eight sacks, and two forced fumbles. He was projected to go sometime during the third round, but fell all the way to the fifth. With a need at edge rusher, the Bears didn’t hesitate to move in for him.

Here are a few things to know about the newest Bears edge rusher.
