The Jacksonville Jaguars made a few moves early in the week, agreeing to terms with five players who all officially signed Wednesday and Thursday. But they saved their biggest move for last.

Shortly after the San Francisco 49ers cut ties with defensive tackle Arik Armstead after nine seasons, the Jaguars leapt into action and signed the massive, 6’7 lineman to a three-year, $51 million contract. The $17 million per year deal makes Armstead one of the highest paid players on the team, but may provide the Jaguars with the physical presence on the interior of their defensive line that they desperately missed in 2023.
