Just when the good vibes began to flow for the Chicago Bears, they were thwarted by a lightning strike. Multiple lightning strikes, actually. The Bears traveled west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in a prime-time matchup and fell 30-13, their sixth loss of the season. Chicago had no answers for the Chargers offense, which made quick work of their defense to score 24 first-half points. Missed tackles and predictable alignments allowed quarterback Justin Herbert to bounce back after a few rough starts.

For the Bears offense, rookie Tyson Bagent’s second start didn’t go quite as well as his first. Bagent turned the ball over two times and wasn’t able to make big-time throws to keep the Bears in the game. The Bears failing on key fourth-down conversions also played a factor, as they only netted 13 offensive points. All in all, it was another abysmal performance on Sunday Night Football that leaves the Bears without a winning streak in the Matt Eberflus era.
