AJ McCarron leads epic comeback XFL win over Hines Ward’s team

Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron led a thrilling comeback victory during his XFL season debut, leading his St. Louis Battlehawks to an 18-15 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas.

McCarron’s Battlehawks were down 15-3 entering the final frame before his team rattled off 15 straight points to get the win.

In a fun Bengals twist, McCarron’s heroics came against former Pittsburgh Steelers great Hines Ward, who coaches the Brahmas (former Bengals running back Jacques Patrick is also on the roster).

McCarron threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns, his last scoring strike coming in the game’s closing moments.
