Arizona Cardinals make roster moves on Saturday for game against Houston Texans

The Arizona Cardinals made a bevy of moves on Saturday to get ready for today’s matchup with the Houston Texans.

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced the following roster moves:

– Elevated defensive lineman Josh Mauro (MORE-oh) to the active roster from the practice squad as a standard elevation

– Elevated offensive lineman Danny Isidora (izz-uh-DORA), tight end Ross Travis and linebacker Joe Walker to the active roster from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements

Isidora (6-3, 306) has played in each of the past two games with Arizona after being elevated from the practice squad. He signed with the Cardinals practice squad on September 29 and has played in 27 career games (six starts) after originally entering the league with Minnesota as a fifth-round selection (180th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami.

Mauro (6-6, 290) was re-signed to Arizona’s practice squad after spending training camp with the team. He played in three games (two starts) last season with Arizona and had five tackles and one sack. The 30-year old Mauro previously played 47 games (26 starts) with Arizona between 2014-17 and had 70 tackles (52 solo), two sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He originally entered the league with Pittsburgh as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2014 from Stanford.

Travis (6-6, 248) has played in the past two games after being elevated from the practice squad. He was signed to the Cardinals practice squad after spending preseason with the team. Travis has played in 27 games (seven starts) in his NFL career and has 14 receptions for 142 yards. He originally entered the league in 2015 with Kansas City as an undrafted rookie free agent after playing college basketball at Penn State.

Walker (6-2, 236) signed with the Cardinals practice squad on October 13 and played in last week’s game after being elevated. He played 30 games (11 starts) with Arizona in 2018-19 and had a career high 61 tackles (37 solo) in 2019 while collecting 15 special teams tackles. The 28-year Walker was originally drafted by Philadelphia in the seventh round (251st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Oregon and played in 12 games with San Francisco last year.

Isidora will wear #63, Mauro will wear #96, Travis will wear #43 and Walker will wear #59.
