The Atlanta Falcons took care of business when it mattered most in their Week 2 win over the Green Bay Packers. While it certainly wasn’t perfect, the team showed a lot of poise in overcoming a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder struggled early in the game, but to his credit, he played well down the stretch. Ridder was asked about embracing the big moments after Sunday’s win.

“The reason I play quarterback is because I have the ball in my hands every single play,” said Ridder. “So for me, you know when those big time situations come up, whatever it may be, we know that if the ball does end up in my hands, I’ve got to go make a play.”

Ridder was asked why head coach Arthur Smith has so much confidence in him to make plays in those clutch situations.

“It’s obviously trust,” Ridder answered. “Trust in seeing that throughout the week that we’ve put in the work, that we’ve executed that play over and over and over again. We know that when we come out here on Sunday that when he calls it, we’re going to execute it to its fullest.”
