The Atlanta Falcons had the chance to take their quarterback of the future in 2021, but passed on both Justin Fields and Mac Jones. If the team were to land another top-10 pick in 2022, it’s hard to imagine Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot passing up another potential franchise QB. That’s been the consensus in early mocks drafts from around the NFL, at least. And honestly, it’s hard to argue.

Even if you believe Matt Ryan can play for another 3-5 years, it’s clear through two preseason games that Atlanta needs to invest in a long-term option behind him. AJ McCarron is out for the year and Feleipe Franks hasn’t shown much as a passer.

All of these factors could compel the team to pick a quarterback in round one, and that’s just what Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling projects for Atlanta in his new three-round mock. Let’s take a look at all four picks, starting with Liberty QB Malik Willis.
