The Arizona Cardinals made a bevy of moves on Tuesday, one of which caught my eye was the team bringing on veteran defensive lineman Margus Hunt.

In case you missed the background on Hunt yesterday:

Hunt (6-8, 295) is an eight-year NFL veteran who has played with Cincinnati (2013-16; ’20), New Orleans (2020) and Indianapolis (2017-19) in his career and has appeared in 104 games (26 starts) with 114 tackles (78 solo), 8.5 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, 11 passes defensed, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble returns. He played in 13 games last season (four with New Orleans, nine with Cincinnati) after appearing in 47 games (25 starts) with the Colts the previous three years. The 34-year old Hunt entered the league with Cincinnati as a second-round selection (53rd overall) in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The reason Hunt caught my eye is that he offers a bona-fide 34 defensive end for the Cardinals defense. He is not going to be a guy who stacks up much in the way of stats, but he has been on successful defenses.

Since 2018, his second year with the Colts, he has been on the 10th best scoring defense, 18th best (the year Andrew Luck retired), then in 2020 was part of the number five scoring defense with the New Orleans Saints.

Now, I am in no way saying that Hunt is the reason those defenses were successful, but instead wondering if his veteran presence, in a limited role could have a positive impact on the defense like it did with those teams.

Can you see Hunt making the roster and if so who would he be making it over?
