The Arizona Cardinals are getting prepared for their Red and White Practice and the first preseason game of the 2021 NFL season.

That means they need a full roster.

They are getting there by adding another wide receiver and activating a veteran they signed earlier this summer.

From the team:

Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed wide receiver Greg Dortch to a one-year contract and has activated safety Shawn Williams from the Non-Football Injury List (NFI).

Dortch (5-7, 175) has spent time on the practice squads of the Jets, Panthers, Rams and Falcons in his NFL career and played two games with Carolina in 2019, returning five kicks for 119 yards and four punts for 28 yards. The 23-year old Dortch entered the league with the Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent from Wake Forest in 2019. In 2020, Dortch spent training camp with the Rams before being signed to the Falcons practice squad. This past offseason, Dortch was with the Falcons before being released on June 17.

It would seem unlikely that Dortch has a roster spot, unless the Cardinals have been so impressed with rookie Rondale Moore that they will not want to see him used in the return game.

Welcome aboard, Greg.
