Heading into Allen Robinson’s fourth season with the Bears, he will play with his fourth different starting quarterback in Chicago — Mitchell Trubisky, Chase Daniel, Nick Foles, and now Andy Dalton. So far, things have been “very smooth” between Robinson and Dalton.

Robinson found most of his success in his career under Trubisky and Blake Bortles. Though that has been something fans of both the Bears and Jaguars have complained about, Robinson has continued to put his head down and play great football.

This season things will look different. Robinson has a new quarterback in Dalton to work with. The 10-year veteran seems to have found a connection with Robinson so far in training camp.

The two have gotten some timing down and Robinson seems happy about it.

“It’s been good,” Robinson said. “We’ve been in communication a lot – watching film, we’re seeing certain stuff, timing of stuff, making sure I’m on time.”

Robinson went on to say that their communication has been “constant.” That is good to build trust and confidence between a quarterback and wide receiver.

Though Dalton won’t be the long-term fix in Chicago, he will be under center until rookie quarterback Justin Fields is ready to play. Whether Fields is ready right away or later in the season, it’s good to see chemistry between Robinson and Dalton early on in training camp.

We’ll see if these two can work together well enough for Robinson to record his third 1,000-yard season in a row. Between these two, so far, so good.
