The Chicago Bears have a slew of positional needs this offseason. New general manager Ryan Poles will address them in free agency and the NFL draft.

One of those glaring needs is wide receiver, considering Darnell Mooney is currently the only wideout — who’s expected to contend for a roster spot — currently under contract in 2022.

While the Bears are expected to address the receiver position in the draft, there are plenty of veteran wideouts that are slated to hit the free-agent market.

If the Cowboys decide to part ways with Amari Cooper, who is coming off his worst season in Dallas, Pro Football Network believes Chicago would be a potential landing spot for Cooper.

Chicago must address its offensive line in the coming months, but they also need to find weapons for Fields. Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet is a decent start, but the club can do better. Allen Robinson posted the worst season of his career in 2021, while Marquise Goodwin and Damiere Byrd have been near the bottom of the yards per route run leaderboards for the past two years. Cooper could be sold on the opportunity of playing with an exciting young QB and the prospect of competing in a potentially Aaron Rodgers-less NFC North.

With the development of quarterback Justin Fields key for the success of the Bears moving forward, they need to surround him with weapons on offense. With Allen Robinson likely departing in free agency, they need to find someone to pair with Mooney. Cooper could be one of those big-name weapons that could help a young QB like Fields thrive.
