The Chicago Bears are finalizing their plans for the 2024 NFL draft, where they have a pair of top 10 selections.

There’s little surprise what the Bears will do with the No. 1 pick (welcome to Chicago, Caleb Williams). But there’s plenty of intrigue with that No. 9 selection.

Will they trade up? Trade back? Stay put? Will they add a stud-skilled player on offense to help Williams? Or will they beef up their defense with it?

Edge rusher is definitely in play with the ninth overall pick, and general manager Ryan Poles is doing his due diligence. He’s already had pre-draft visits with Alabama’s Dallas Turner and UCLA’s Laiatu Latu.

Now, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Bears will host Florida State pass rusher Jared Verse for an upcoming Top 30 visit at Halas Hall.

In two seasons with Florida State, Verse had 18 sacks and 29.5 tackles for a loss. He’s a first-round talent that could make a significant impact at the NFL level.

The Bears need to improve their pass rush, which is considered to be a need going into the draft. The defense was entirely different after adding Montez Sweat last year, so finding a complement in a stud like Verse wouldn’t be a terrible idea.
