Following an influx of injuries to the offensive line, the Chicago Bears have signed former Clemson offensive lineman Gage Cervenka.

Cervenka was at Halas Hall for a visit earlier this week, and he was among the players on Chicago’s offseason roster back in May.

Cervenka started his Clemson career as a defensive lineman before converting to offensive line, and he was a key starter in charge of keeping Trevor Lawrence upright during Clemson’s national championship run in 2019.

The Bears have been ravaged by injuries over the last week, especially on the offensive line, where they’re without five offensive tackles. That includes two projected starters in rookie Teven Jenkins (back) and Germain Ifedi (hip flexor, PUP list), both of whom have yet to practice during training camp.

With the addition of Cervenka, the Bears now have 10 offensive linemen available to them heading into Sunday’s padded practice.
