When the Chicago Bears kick things off against the Cincinnati Bengals, it’ll be the first time fans are back at Soldier Field following COVID-19 restrictions, which left the stadium without fans for the entire 2020 season.

While fans are eager to get back to cheer on their home team, the players are just as excited to have fans back in the stands.

“Excited to come home,” said tight end Jimmy Graham, “excited to be back in Chicago with fans, and myself here with fans for the first time to feel this city and get the crowd into it and get our defense rushing off the edge.

“That’s what we’re focused on, not pressure, but we understand what’s at hand here and how important this week is to get some momentum and get in the win column.”

Following Week 1’s brutal loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Bears are looking to get back on track against the Bengals. If they struggle, fans could certainly voice their displeasure.

Quarterback Andy Dalton is hoping fans are nice and loud to give the team home field advantage. Although, Dalton encouraging the fans when they booed him back in preseason doesn’t seem like the best idea.

“A lot of excited fans get to be back at Soldier Field,” Dalton said. “We’re excited for this home field advantage. Hopefully they’ll be loud and make it hard for the offense for the Bengals when they’re out there.”

Let’s hope Dalton doesn’t live to regret those words should things go south.
